Halliwell 'responsible' for Cole success
Geri Halliwell has claimed that she is responsible for Cheryl Cole's success.
The former Spice Girl credited herself with spotting Cole's potential when she auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
"I'm so proud of Cheryl Cole. I really fought hard to put her through," she told the Daily Mail.
"I love that I opened that little window of opportunity for her and now she's run with it."
Halliwell and former bandmate Emma Bunton were last night spotted attending the Girls Aloud 'Out Of Control' live show at London's O2 arena.
Cole previously complained that comparisons between Girls Aloud and the Spice Girls were unfair.
"We've been around for six years - they were around for 18 months," she said.
"We recognise what the Spice Girls did, but it really annoys me when you meet girls who go, 'We wannabe the next Spice Girls'

Jolie suffered injury on Salt set
Angelina Jolie suffered a minor injury on the set of her new movie Salt which saw her being taken to hospital.
Usmagazine.com reports that the star was filming the thriller in New York's Long Island when she got a scratch on her face and bumped her head. She was performing a stunt when the incident happened.
The star was then taken to hospital, but her manager told website TMZ that she would be fine and Sony, the studio behind the film, issued the following statement.
"This morning, while filming an action sequence during production of her new movie Salt, Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury," it read. "As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie will be taken to the hospital and examined. Production on the film has resumed."
Following her hospital visit, the actress is said to have returned to the set and continued shooting.

Young Lara Croft Megan Fox
Megan Fox is tipped to play a young Lara Croft in a new 'Tomb Raider' movie.
Executive producer Dan Lin is planning an "origin" story of the popular action franchise based on the computer game of the same name, and said it would be a "no brainer" to consider Megan for the daredevil archaeologist role made famous by Angelina Jolie.
Unlike previous movies, Dan has promised to focus more on characters and plot than spectacular stunts.
He told film website about.com: "It's great origin story that we're going to tell. A very character-oriented story which I would say is more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies.

Booted out by dad, but Peaches Geldof lands in five-star luxury
She may have been kicked out of her father's house but things appear to have turned out rather well for Peaches Geldof.
The 20-year- old socialite is living in one of London's most exclusive hotels for next to nothing.
Miss Geldof has managed to negotiate a deal to become an 'ambassador' for the five-star Mayfair Hotel, saving her almost £50,000 in bills over the past 14 weeks.
In return for making sure she is photographed outside the front of the building and writing about it in her magazine columns, she only has to pay a fraction of the bill each time she stays.
Earlier this month the Mail revealed Peaches has been checking into a London hotel rather than stay in the family home in Battersea, South-West London.
She fell out with Bob Geldof over a series of photographs of her in revealing outfits, as well as over an underwear advertising campaign.
However, she has secured a double bedroom at the Mayfair, which normally costs £330 a night, and is occasionally offered one of the 12 suites, which costs up to £1,000-a-night. She often stays for weeks at a time.
She is given free meals in the restaurant - where dinner for two costs more than £100 - and has been told she does not have to pay for her drinks in the bar. Her dinner, drinks and room service bills alone are said to have cost almost £10,000 over the last 14 weeks.
She has also taken advantage of the hotel's spa, where treatments can cost up to £350.
Miss Geldof was offered the ambassador role after leaving the family home in February.
Such deals are usually reserved for A-list celebrities such as the Beckhams, who are also on the Mayfair's books.
A source said: 'Peaches has basically been living at the hotel. She has spent a huge amount of money here with her friends and the tab is taken care of.
'It's felt she is a good ambassador for the hotel and because of that she is allowed to have friends stay with her and have parties up in her room.'

The "Poker Face" singer admits to liking the men in her life more femme than manly.
Fashionista diva extraordinaire Lady Gaga has admitted to Fox News that she likes her men just like her - hot and stylish. "I like boys that look like girls…all my boyfriends look like Nikki Stixx, amazing."
The "Poker Face" star seems to go after the stereotypical bad boy rocker who likes to party, drink and gamble. But when asked about rumors that she's bisexual, the often-brazen star declared her sexuality was a "very personal issue."
Despite her naughty side, the artist has a little known passion for all things divine. The Catholic school dropout told Fox's Pop Tarts that she enjoys church! "I love church music, church and mass in general, it's like a play. I really enjoy it," the 22-year-old singer said.
This would probably come as a surprise to the Chicago police officer that wrote her a ticket for indecent exposure. "…I guess he wanted me to cover up my bum-quite a bit was showing." Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, released her album "The Fame" in August 2008.

Stephanie Beacham has warned Amanda Holden about using Botox treatments.
Beacham told the Daily Mirror that using Botox will affect how Holden's fans look at her. While she does look fabulous after her cosmetic surgery, she needs to consider its impact on her fans said Beacham.
"Think hard," she said. "You are a role model and I think it's rather important what message you're putting out."
She asks, "Do you really want that message to be that you inject your forehead with poison from cows?"
Stephanie survived a skin cancer scare. She was offered extensive cosmetic surgery upon recovery, but she refused. She said that it saddened her to think that she was going under the knife.
She concludes, "I'm proud of the way I look. I may be a grandmother but I feel fabulous."

Gwen Stefani fizzing with energy as No Doubt tour starts
P Diddy and Tiger Woods were in the audience as Gwen Stefani took to the stage with her No Doubt colleagues for the first time in five years.
"You always remember your first show of any tour," the pop princess told fans a few songs into the concert, "and so far, so, so, so good."
The ska-pop oufit concentrated on their hits, sending the 12,000-strong crowd wild with their rendition of I'm Just A Girl.
Effervescent Gwen, who's had two boys since the band last performed together, has explained they don't yet have any new material. Playing live is a away of getting inspired creatively again, she added.

Norway's baby-faced fiddler wins Eurovision...
It wasn't quite her time, but Jade Ewen did her country proud when she earned the UK fifth place in the 54th Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
The Londoner's result was a significant improvement on last year's bottom-of-the-league rating, succeeding in reversing the UK's bad run of results in the contest with It's My Time by Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Diane Warren.
It raises hopes that the landscape of Eurovision's voting process has been changed - with votes being cast on acts' musical merit instead of for tactical reasons.
The last time the UK enjoyed victory in the competition was in 1997 when Katrina And The Waves won in Dublin with Love Shine A Light.
However the 21-year-old singer's effort failed to secure enough points to compete with record-breaking Norway, who was crowned winner in Moscow.
With a score of 387, singer and violinist Alexander Rybak beat 24 other contestants and broke the record for the most points awarded during the competition with his folk-inspired song Fairytale.
The 23-year-old ethnic Belarussian, who grew up outside of Oslo, had been a pre-tournament favourite. This is the third time Norway has won the competition.
Iceland came in second with 218 points and Azerbaijan third with a score of 207.

Katy Perry loves wearing Romper Suits.
The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer is a huge fan of the all-in-one garments - which are usually worn by babies - and often dons one when she is relaxing in private.
She said: "At home, I sit around in a zebra-print romper suit from H+M. Rompers are very me. They're super easy to run around in. With anything you wear, it's about having confidence."
The 24-year-old star revealed she is a big admirer of Lady Gaga - who is famous for her outrageous outfits, and often only wears underwear on nights out - and is keen to emulate her style.
She explained: "Lady Gaga has the coolest outfits. I was texting her the other day, asking where she gets her clothes."

Katie Price and Peter Andre to split
Reality TV stars Katie Price and Peter Andre, whose relationship began when they were contestants on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!, are to separate.
A spokesman for the couple confirmed today that they were separating after four and a half years of marriage.
Price, a former Page 3 model, and Andre, who enjoyed chart success as a singer in the 1990s, began a relationship after being contestants on 2004's I'm A Celebrity and were married the following year.
Since that time the pair have generated an enormous volume of publicity, including their ITV2 shows When Jordan Met Peter, Jordan & Peter: Laid Bare, Jordan & Peter: Marriage Mayhem?, Katie & Peter: The Baby Diaries and Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter.
Their latest ITV2 reality TV show, Katie & Peter: Stateside, is currently attracting more than 1 million viewers on Thursday nights.
Formerly known as Page 3 girl Jordan, the first volume of Price's memoirs, Being Jordan, sold more than 1m copies. The third volume of her memoirs, Jordan: Pushed to the Limit, was published last year.

Aguilera to star in Burlesque
Sexy singer Christina Aguilera is to make her movie debut in a starring role in the musical Burlesque.
According to Variety she will play an "ambitious small town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles burlesque club".
The movie will start shooting later this year. This is the first time that Aguilera, a former Disney child star who has won four Grammy Awards, is appearing in a movie.

According to The Sun, the Girls Aloud singer had agreed to pose for photographs outside her hotel following a gig at the city's Odyssey Arena, but was "left shaken" after one teenager ran towards her.
An onlooker said: "This girl was hysterical and totally obsessed with Cheryl. She lunged at her and her brace must have nicked her lip. Cheryl looked absolutely terrified. The band's security manager said Cheryl had been hurt and was shaking."

Halliwell 'responsible' for Cole success
Geri Halliwell has claimed that she is responsible for Cheryl Cole's success.
The former Spice Girl credited herself with spotting Cole's potential when she auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
"I'm so proud of Cheryl Cole. I really fought hard to put her through," she told the Daily Mail.
"I love that I opened that little window of opportunity for her and now she's run with it."
Halliwell and former bandmate Emma Bunton were last night spotted attending the Girls Aloud 'Out Of Control' live show at London's O2 arena.
Cole previously complained that comparisons between Girls Aloud and the Spice Girls were unfair.
"We've been around for six years - they were around for 18 months," she said.
"We recognise what the Spice Girls did, but it really annoys me when you meet girls who go, 'We wannabe the next Spice Girls'

Jolie suffered injury on Salt set
Angelina Jolie suffered a minor injury on the set of her new movie Salt which saw her being taken to hospital.
Usmagazine.com reports that the star was filming the thriller in New York's Long Island when she got a scratch on her face and bumped her head. She was performing a stunt when the incident happened.
The star was then taken to hospital, but her manager told website TMZ that she would be fine and Sony, the studio behind the film, issued the following statement.
"This morning, while filming an action sequence during production of her new movie Salt, Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury," it read. "As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie will be taken to the hospital and examined. Production on the film has resumed."
Following her hospital visit, the actress is said to have returned to the set and continued shooting.

Young Lara Croft Megan Fox
Megan Fox is tipped to play a young Lara Croft in a new 'Tomb Raider' movie.
Executive producer Dan Lin is planning an "origin" story of the popular action franchise based on the computer game of the same name, and said it would be a "no brainer" to consider Megan for the daredevil archaeologist role made famous by Angelina Jolie.
Unlike previous movies, Dan has promised to focus more on characters and plot than spectacular stunts.
He told film website about.com: "It's great origin story that we're going to tell. A very character-oriented story which I would say is more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies.

Booted out by dad, but Peaches Geldof lands in five-star luxury
She may have been kicked out of her father's house but things appear to have turned out rather well for Peaches Geldof.
The 20-year- old socialite is living in one of London's most exclusive hotels for next to nothing.
Miss Geldof has managed to negotiate a deal to become an 'ambassador' for the five-star Mayfair Hotel, saving her almost £50,000 in bills over the past 14 weeks.
In return for making sure she is photographed outside the front of the building and writing about it in her magazine columns, she only has to pay a fraction of the bill each time she stays.
Earlier this month the Mail revealed Peaches has been checking into a London hotel rather than stay in the family home in Battersea, South-West London.
She fell out with Bob Geldof over a series of photographs of her in revealing outfits, as well as over an underwear advertising campaign.
However, she has secured a double bedroom at the Mayfair, which normally costs £330 a night, and is occasionally offered one of the 12 suites, which costs up to £1,000-a-night. She often stays for weeks at a time.
She is given free meals in the restaurant - where dinner for two costs more than £100 - and has been told she does not have to pay for her drinks in the bar. Her dinner, drinks and room service bills alone are said to have cost almost £10,000 over the last 14 weeks.
She has also taken advantage of the hotel's spa, where treatments can cost up to £350.
Miss Geldof was offered the ambassador role after leaving the family home in February.
Such deals are usually reserved for A-list celebrities such as the Beckhams, who are also on the Mayfair's books.
A source said: 'Peaches has basically been living at the hotel. She has spent a huge amount of money here with her friends and the tab is taken care of.
'It's felt she is a good ambassador for the hotel and because of that she is allowed to have friends stay with her and have parties up in her room.'

Fashionista diva extraordinaire Lady Gaga has admitted to Fox News that she likes her men just like her - hot and stylish. "I like boys that look like girls…all my boyfriends look like Nikki Stixx, amazing."
The "Poker Face" star seems to go after the stereotypical bad boy rocker who likes to party, drink and gamble. But when asked about rumors that she's bisexual, the often-brazen star declared her sexuality was a "very personal issue."
Despite her naughty side, the artist has a little known passion for all things divine. The Catholic school dropout told Fox's Pop Tarts that she enjoys church! "I love church music, church and mass in general, it's like a play. I really enjoy it," the 22-year-old singer said.

Stephanie Beacham has warned Amanda Holden about using Botox treatments.
Beacham told the Daily Mirror that using Botox will affect how Holden's fans look at her. While she does look fabulous after her cosmetic surgery, she needs to consider its impact on her fans said Beacham.
"Think hard," she said. "You are a role model and I think it's rather important what message you're putting out."
She asks, "Do you really want that message to be that you inject your forehead with poison from cows?"
Stephanie survived a skin cancer scare. She was offered extensive cosmetic surgery upon recovery, but she refused. She said that it saddened her to think that she was going under the knife.
She concludes, "I'm proud of the way I look. I may be a grandmother but I feel fabulous."

P Diddy and Tiger Woods were in the audience as Gwen Stefani took to the stage with her No Doubt colleagues for the first time in five years.
"You always remember your first show of any tour," the pop princess told fans a few songs into the concert, "and so far, so, so, so good."
The ska-pop oufit concentrated on their hits, sending the 12,000-strong crowd wild with their rendition of I'm Just A Girl.

Norway's baby-faced fiddler wins Eurovision...
It wasn't quite her time, but Jade Ewen did her country proud when she earned the UK fifth place in the 54th Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
The Londoner's result was a significant improvement on last year's bottom-of-the-league rating, succeeding in reversing the UK's bad run of results in the contest with It's My Time by Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Diane Warren.
It raises hopes that the landscape of Eurovision's voting process has been changed - with votes being cast on acts' musical merit instead of for tactical reasons.
The last time the UK enjoyed victory in the competition was in 1997 when Katrina And The Waves won in Dublin with Love Shine A Light.
However the 21-year-old singer's effort failed to secure enough points to compete with record-breaking Norway, who was crowned winner in Moscow.
With a score of 387, singer and violinist Alexander Rybak beat 24 other contestants and broke the record for the most points awarded during the competition with his folk-inspired song Fairytale.
The 23-year-old ethnic Belarussian, who grew up outside of Oslo, had been a pre-tournament favourite. This is the third time Norway has won the competition.
Iceland came in second with 218 points and Azerbaijan third with a score of 207.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer is a huge fan of the all-in-one garments - which are usually worn by babies - and often dons one when she is relaxing in private.
She said: "At home, I sit around in a zebra-print romper suit from H+M. Rompers are very me. They're super easy to run around in. With anything you wear, it's about having confidence."

Katie Price and Peter Andre to split
Reality TV stars Katie Price and Peter Andre, whose relationship began when they were contestants on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!, are to separate.
A spokesman for the couple confirmed today that they were separating after four and a half years of marriage.
Price, a former Page 3 model, and Andre, who enjoyed chart success as a singer in the 1990s, began a relationship after being contestants on 2004's I'm A Celebrity and were married the following year.
Since that time the pair have generated an enormous volume of publicity, including their ITV2 shows When Jordan Met Peter, Jordan & Peter: Laid Bare, Jordan & Peter: Marriage Mayhem?, Katie & Peter: The Baby Diaries and Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter.
Their latest ITV2 reality TV show, Katie & Peter: Stateside, is currently attracting more than 1 million viewers on Thursday nights.
Formerly known as Page 3 girl Jordan, the first volume of Price's memoirs, Being Jordan, sold more than 1m copies. The third volume of her memoirs, Jordan: Pushed to the Limit, was published last year.

Aguilera to star in Burlesque
Sexy singer Christina Aguilera is to make her movie debut in a starring role in the musical Burlesque.
According to Variety she will play an "ambitious small town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles burlesque club".
The movie will start shooting later this year. This is the first time that Aguilera, a former Disney child star who has won four Grammy Awards, is appearing in a movie.

Amanda Holden admits crush on Simon Cowell
Blonde TV beauty Amanda Holden has always denied fancyingSimon Cowell, likening him and fellow Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan to "two naughty boys". The former Wild At Heartactress comes clean, however, on this weekend's show, making the shock revelation that she has got a thing for the music mogul.
"I have got a crush on him," admits the star, who wed record producer Chris Hughes at Christmas. "It's a bizarre thing. I recently read that Cheryl Cole never thought that she would (fancy him) and she did."
She explains: "He has this charisma and charm which you can't fight. And if you want to be cross with him, you can't."
Amanda's other half needn't be worried, though. The 38-year-old TV personality insists her husband is the true love of her life. "He's tall and gorgeous. There's no competition," she says.
She says even Simon treats her differently now she's a married woman. "I think he feels he can't flirt with me any more. He's kind of a bit more respectful," she reveals. "But I'm naturally flirtatious and it's part of our chemistry."
